How perfect is this song? Does it even need an explanation? Well, OK. Cloud and Cid are emotionally distant, intentionally or unintentionally, from the people who love them most, and who they love the most. Even if Cid pushes Shera away ("You can lock your door/You can live alone etc...") he will not be happy until he has her. Same for Cloud. A nice song, and it works.

George is very expressive on this one. It light, soothing melodies present a feeling of obscurity, as if trying to remember something long forgotten. A voice from the past. The sad, lonely feeling of the solo can be compared to Cloud's lonely memories, and his confusion as he tries to remember his past. The energetic climax of the song, beautifully harmozied with guitars, piano chords, and double-time drums, brings to mind the final task of rememberingt for Cloud: the Lifestream. He has remembered, and the secret has been unlocked.
The song as a whole seems to depict a lonely quest to find a forgotten past. A promise to oneself to remember something forgotten.
It's very tough to describe what goes on in my mind when I hear this song. Words don't seem to do it justice, because George's playing goes beyond words. I seriously suggest you download it, and see for yourself. You will remember.

Well, there's not too much to this, right? Wrong. Maybe the lyrics are simple, but the whole mood of the song is Cloud and Aeris all over. For one thing, In Time, Cloud and Aeris will be dancing in the streets all night. They are going far.
My suggestion: download the song, and listen. While it's playing picture this: it's the ending sequence of FFVII, but it's different. However you want it to end is good, but at the very end, Aeris and Cloud are dancing majestically in the streets, smiling happily. Aeris is alive and looking beautiful, and the mood is romantic, the stars shining brightly overhead. The camera pans upwards, away from the two, into the magnificent night sky, as a shooting star flies across the heavens, and the words "The End" appear. And all the while, this is the song that's playing. Have I brought tears to your eyes? Thought so.
