Final Fantasy 5150: Aeris Lee Roth, Cloud Van Halen, Tifa Anthony
Here, you may dedicate a song to one or more characters from Final Fantasy VII. Your song should reflect something in the game or a character(s) in the game. If your song moves me or the JokeMaster, chances are it will go up. Lyrics do not have to be serious. Funny songs are good, and the songs don't have to be amazingly written or Top 10 hits. They just have to be good, and pertain to Final Fantasy VII in some way. Also, you can't badmouth the game or a character (except a villain) in any way. (I can tolerate being mean to Zack, though, since the stupid jerk left Tifa laying, bleeding on the floor of the reactor, and almost stepped on her going by. He didn't deserve Aeris.) For example, you may dedicate a song that shows a preference to Aeris over Tifa, and vice versa, or whatever, but no songs that slam the other(s). For examples, see below.

I'm sure Cloud would've liked to have dedicated this one to Aeris himself. A perfect reflection of Cloud's meeting and falling for her, and a damn good song to boot. The verses are a perfect reflection of Cloud's lonliness before he met Aeris. The pre-chorus describes his chance meeting with her, and his realization of how much she means to him. He wants to spend his life with her.

This song can go four ways. The choice line is "That's just the way wee feel if all things are left unsaid". It can symbolize Tifa's wish that she had told Cloud how she felt before he left Nibelheim, disappeared into the Lifestream, etc., and the same for Cloud. Also it can show that Cloud misses Aeris and wishes he had told her how he felt, and vice versa. It all depends on who you think Cloud should be with. No matter who you prefer, it works.

A reflection of Tifa's devotion to and love for Cloud. It can be Aeris' too, but I think it works better for Tifa, since they've known each other longer. I personally prefer Aeris, but I think this one's for Tifa.

Even though this song seems to be a breakup, I think it's good for reflecting Cloud's feelings. We all know that he wishes he could go back and change things, and save Aeris. This is reflected in lines like "So maybe we could turn back the hands of time/Maybe we could give it another try/One more time". Even if you prefer Tifa, you can't deny that Cloud wishes he had Aeris back.

This was a song that was burnt into my brain being connected to FFVII. I was listening to the CD in surround sound in my uncle's basement through the Playstation. I had just gotten the CD, the Playstation, and FFVII that day (Christmas 2000) and went between listening and playing, and in my head, Lynch Mob and FFVII go together. It was before I even met Aeris, but only later did I realize how perfect it was. Aeris and Cloud have been separated, and wish to be together again. Some choice lines - "Thoughts of you fill my empty day" - Cloud thinks of Aeris often. "Trust in my love/You know only time can separate us" - they will be together again one day. "Hold me in your dreams" - Aeris will always live in dreams. "Dream Until Tomorrow comes" - tomorrow, when Cloud and Aeris meet again in the Promised Land.

Alice Cooper wrote this song about the PMRC, but it also screams Shinra. Give Cloud a guitar, Barret some drums, Tifa a bass, and let Aeris sing, and this is the song you'd get.

This is another song that depends on your preference. I'm giving it to Aeris and Cloud, but the lines "No more lonely nights/I'm finally goin' somewhere/It's all because of you that I know why" can reflect how Tifa helped cloud sort out his memories, and now he's finally going somewhere. Of course, Aeris helped him out too. She was definitely one in a million, and she made it all real for Cloud. Also, he did wonder "Is this really what I'm lookin' for?" from time to time. He's walked a lonely road and for a long time he was going nowhere, but when Aeris came into his life, she made it "all so real" and made Cloud feel things he'd never thought he'd feel. This can all work the same way for Tifa, but I think it suits Aeris better.

This beatiful song has always touched me, but more so since I thought of it relating to Aeris. when you think about it, the Cetra were...aliens. So Aeris is kind of...half alien. Still human, but alien too. (This is not a bad thing, just strange. We still love Aeris.) She came walking in, and everyone, especially Cloud, had their lives changed, and (almost) lost their place in time. Nothing ever felt the same again, and Cloud sensed a big change, because for him, love truly walked in. The second verse reflects Cloud's mental struggles. He laid his sanity on the line, and surrounded by familiar faces and sights, he was forced to remember his past. Aeris waited for the opening (the date) and pulled a string ("I want to meet...you."). Then we get sad. Aeris stood there on the alter, not in a silken gown, but looking no less beautiful, with the silvery lights shining down on her. Then...*sob*... Now, Aeris lives in Cloud's dreams ("Sleep and dream/that's all I crave). The next line, "I travel far across the Milky Way" can reflect his desire to search for her in the Lifestream. Skipping back in the game, the next line can refer to Sephiroth's control of Cloud, and because of it, he has to wait to see Aeris again some other day (or at least, he thinks it's his fault). Then, while no one in AVALANCHE could ever return to the way they were before, the Planet did when Sephiroth, Jenova, and Meteor were stopped, and all thanks to Aeris. It's very fitting that if you look at this song this way, Aeris could be given the name "Love". It suits her perfectly, as does this song.
